We are an established business specializing in residential and commercial glass solutions throughout the Northshore. We are seeking a skilled Glass Installer who shares our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for measuring, cutting, fabricating, and installing a wide range of glass products, including mirrors, insulated glass units (IGUs), tabletops, shelving, shower enclosures, storefront glass, and related hardware. This role requires hands-on installation skills, strong attention to detail, and professional interaction with customers in homes and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work safely in compliance with OSHA standards. Key Responsibilities Glass Installation & Fabrication Measurement, Installation, service, and repair various types of residential and commercial glass, including windows, doors, shower enclosures, and specialty glass and mirrors. Insulated glass units (single, double, and triple pane) Storefront and commercial glazing Table tops, shelves, cabinet glass Safety glass and tempered units Measure, cut, and fabricate glass accurately per job specifications for In-Shop work. Remove and dispose of old glass safely and cleanly. Install channels, stops, clips, setting blocks, gasket systems, and other hardware. Site Work & Project Execution Perform accurate site measurements and evaluation at client site for estimates. Ensure all installations meet company, manufacturer, and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized job site and company vehicle. Handle ladders, scaffolding, and glass-handling equipment safely. Qualifications Required 1-3 years of glass installation or glazing experience (residential or commercial). Ability to lift and maneuver over 50lbs of glass and be comfortable working in various weather conditions and heights. Strong measuring, cutting, and layout skills, with attention to detail. Ability to read measurements and perform basic math. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Comfort using hand and power tools. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of glazing putty, silicone, setting tape, gaskets, wraps, and trims. Residential and commercial glass types, installation methods, and repair techniques. Carpentry or Trade experience. Experience with storefront systems or shower enclosure installations, IGU replacement and reglazing. Ensure precise measurements and high-quality workmanship. Maintain clean and organized job sites as well as shop and company vehicle. Documentation of work performed, materials used, and customer interactions. Communicate effectively with team members and customers. Troubleshoot and solve installation issues in the field, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Read shop drawings, work orders, and architectural/construction plans. Conduct on-site assessments, measurements, and consultations with customers via phone, text, and in person. Ability to create and present estimates to customers for questions and approval. Provide consultative sales support by recommending appropriate glass types and solutions. The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Exhibit a friendly, customer-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic. Be able to use strong problem-solving skills, be proficiency in phone, text, and in-person communication, including using various app technology. Equipment & Safety Operate glass handling tools and machines including: Frequent use of Glass cutters, polishers, grinders, suction cups, dollies, and lifting tools, Power and hand tools Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. Requires standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods. Ability to lift over 50lbs. Follow all OSHA and Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, ladder safety, and safe material handling.
