Job Description
We're Lewis Glass, a small, owner-run shop in Franklin. We build custom shower enclosures, mirrors, and glass for homes all over the Nashville-Franklin area. We're hiring an entry-level helper to learn glass installation from the ground up. No experience required. This is hands-on work. You'll be on job sites every day, handling glass, learning to measure, carrying glass panels, and helping our lead installers turn a bare bathroom into a finished shower the homeowner is proud of. We'll teach you the trade. What we can't teach is showing up on time, taking pride in your work, and treating a customer's home with respect. Bring that, and we'll make you into a skilled installer. If you're motivated, good with your hands, and want to build a career in a real trade, keep reading. What your day looks like You'll start at our shop in Franklin, load the truck with your lead installer, and review the day's jobs. Then you're out in the field around Williamson County and the Nashville area. One day it's a custom frameless shower enclosure in a new home, the next it's a wall of mirror or a glass railing in a remodel. Other days you're on the commercial side: aluminum storefronts and glass entrances for retail spaces and new construction. Every job is a little different, and every one ends with finished glass somebody's proud of. You'll learn by doing, right next to people who've done it for years. What you'll do Ride with a lead installer and learn the trade on real jobs Help carry, position, and set glass (you'll lift 45 lbs+ through the day, heavier panels are two-person lifts) Hand tools, hold material, and learn to use drills, levels, and suction cups Keep the work area clean and protected in every home, every time Learn to caulk clean lines and check your work against the quality standards every Lewis Glass install has to meet Talk to homeowners like a professional and leave the place better than you found it Who we're looking for Shows up on time and follows through. This is the one we won't bend on. Takes real pride in doing a job right Comfortable on your feet all day: lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders Good with your hands and willing to learn the math (reading a tape measure, working in fractions) Respectful around customers and their homes Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record No glass experience needed. A background in construction, remodeling, carpentry, or any hands-on work helps, but we don't require it. If you've never picked up a power tool and you learn fast and want it, apply anyway.
