Experienced Window Installer - Government & Military Projects Are you an experienced window installer with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism? Our government division supports federal agencies, military installations, and public-sector facilities by providing reliable, compliant, and professional construction services. As one of Summit's Experienced Window Installers , you will play a critical role in supporting window replacement and installation projects on military bases, government facilities, and commercial properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Installing replacement and new-construction windows in government, military, commercial, and institutional facilities. Removing existing windows and preparing openings for installation. Installing windows in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project plans, and government construction standards. Applying flashing, insulation, sealants, and weatherproofing materials to ensure proper performance and energy efficiency. Performing finish carpentry, trim work, and related repairs associated with window replacement projects. Reading and interpreting project drawings, specifications, and work orders. Identifying and communicating jobsite issues, structural concerns, or unforeseen conditions to project managers. Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal, military, OSHA, and company standards. Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Working closely with project managers, supervisors, inspectors, and facility personnel to ensure successful project completion. Traveling to military bases and government facilities throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, as required. The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications: 2+ years of professional window installation experience. Experience working on commercial, government, military, or institutional construction projects preferred. Strong understanding of window installation techniques, waterproofing systems, flashing details, and building envelope requirements. Experience with aluminum, vinyl, fiberglass, steel, and specialty commercial window systems preferred. Ability to perform finish carpentry, trim installation, and minor framing repairs. Ability to accurately read tape measures, plans, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with OSHA standards. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations and government facilities throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
