Fabrication Technician Location:
South Phoenix, AZ Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
DOE Position Type:
Direct Hire Masis Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled MIG Welder / Fabrication Technician for a growing manufacturing and heavy equipment company in South Phoenix. This is a hands-on fabrication role working on water trucks, tank assemblies, truck bodies, and related heavy equipment components. We are looking for dependable candidates with MIG welding and fabrication experience who take pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced shop environment.
Responsibilities:
MIG weld steel and aluminum components including frames, plates, piping, brackets, and structural members Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and schematics Measure, cut, grind, and prepare metal materials for fabrication Operate press brakes and metalworking equipment to bend and form parts Fit, tack, and align parts prior to final welding Perform weld repairs, grinding, blending, and finishing work Inspect welds for quality and dimensional accuracy Assist with assembly and fabrication of truck and tank components Maintain welding equipment and replace consumables as needed Work closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing goals Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Required Qualifications:
Previous MIG welding experience with steel and aluminum Experience operating press brakes Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings Experience using hand tools and power tools Strong metal preparation and fabrication skills Knowledge of welding quality standards and defect detection Ability to lift and handle moderate to heavy materials Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Reliable work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS or other welding certifications Experience with heavy equipment, truck body, or tank fabrication Structural or pipe welding experience Experience with robotic or semi-automated welding systems Knowledge of stainless, galvanized, or alloy steels Layout, forming, and jig setup experience

Candidates must own the following minimum tools: Metric & SAE wrench sets Impact battery gun Battery operated drill 3 lb hammer & mallet Wire cutters & strippers Allen wrench sets (SAE & Metric) Box cutter Pliers & ratchet Pipe & crescent wrenches (up to 6") Center punch Scissors Tape measure Why Apply?
