Job:

We're hiring a full-time Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair farm equipment at Paddack Hulling and Shelling. Paddack Hulling and Shelling is an almond and walnut farming operation in Escalon, CA. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires mechanical experience, leadership experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

What You'll Do:

Provide practical experience working with equipment and machinery. The ability to perform consistent, high-quality work in a fast-paced shop environment while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance Oversee and prioritize all maintenance activities by proactively scheduling preventative service and managing urgent repairs to keep equipment ready, reliable, and consistently working in the field Diagnose and repair tractors, harvesters, sweepers, and other ag equipment Perform welding, fabrication, and electrical work Rebuild and overhaul engines Replace hydraulic and mechanical parts Maintain accurate service records Assist with irrigation and plumbing system repairs Transport tools/equipment to job sites when needed

Requirements:

Valid Driver's License (required) 1-3 years of ag machinery repair experience Welding and fabrication experience (1-3 years preferred) High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work on your feet for long periods • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to resolve problems with few concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy to resolve issues quickly.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to talk, hear, and use repetitive motions. Frequently required to use hands and arms to handle, install, position, move materials, and manipulate equipment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds occasionally.
