Mechanic Shop Assistant

We are a rapidly growing company that builds and refurbishes machinery for the plastics industry, and we're seeking a professional, reliable, and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team full-time (40-50 hours per week). Key Responsibilities:

Construct custom wood crates for machinery shipping Perform sheet metal work, including cutting NEMA 12 panels Drill and tap holes in metal parts Sand and prep machinery frames for painting Pressure wash machines and equipment Maintain shop cleanliness and perform basic building upkeep, including lawn care

Requirements:

Must be punctual and dependable - work begins promptly at 7:00 AM Experience with hand tools: drills, saws, pressure washers, etc. Accurate measuring skills using a tape measure Must maintain an organized and clean work environment Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a forklift Must have reliable transportation Prior experience with cutting tools and general shop work preferred
