Role:
As a Metal Fab Technician on our team, you'll shape the structural and functional components that form the backbone of our transformers. You'll work with metal and steel to bend, cut, and assemble parts with precision and care — including operating multiple machines to complete the cover band process from start to finish. It's hands-on, essential work — and you'll be part of a team that keeps energy flowing across communities.
What You'll Do:
As a Metal Fabricator at Central Moloney, your role is critical to product quality and customer satisfaction.
Your day-to-day will include:
Operating up to five machines to complete the cover band process Measuring, cutting, and forming metal parts with precision — including reading a tape measure to spec Fitting and fastening bands and inspecting completed assemblies for proper fit and quality Operating fabrication equipment (press brake, shear, punch, saws, etc.) Handling heavy steel rolls safely and efficiently Reading work instructions to fabricate parts to spec Performing tack welds and minor assembly work Ensuring components meet quality and dimensional standards Collaborating with team members to meet daily production goals Maintaining clean, safe work areas and following all safety procedures Pitching in with other duties as needed — we value cross-trained teams
What You'll Need:
High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing preferred Foundation in machine operating and machine programming Ability to read a tape measure and follow specs Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a team mindset Willingness to undergo background check, drug test, and physical Shift Schedule Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Overtime may be required based on production needs Physical & Work Environment Expectations To succeed in this role, you'll need to be comfortable with:
Lifting & Mobility:
Lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; standing, bending, and moving throughout your shift
Work Environment:
Our facility is active, loud, and warm—especially during peak production
PPE:
We provide and require safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes
Dexterity & Vision:
Manual dexterity and strong visual acuity are needed for detail-oriented work
