Job Title:
Pipe Prep, Fabrication, and Tubing Technician Job Description The Pipe Prep, Fabrication, and Tubing Technician supports pipe preparation, tubing installation, and general fabrication work within a manufacturing shop environment. In this hands-on role, you cut and prep pipe, run and install tubing, and operate shop equipment such as band saws and ironworkers to provide accurate, clean, and on-time fabrication that feeds downstream welding, assembly, and integration work. You work safely, follow drawings and instructions, maintain high quality standards, and contribute to smooth production flow while continuously developing your skills on additional fabrication equipment and processes. Responsibilities Cut, prep, and stage pipe for fabrication and welding operations according to production needs. Measure, mark, and prepare materials accurately using drawings, cut lists, and work instructions. Run and install tubing in line with drawings, routing requirements, and workmanship standards. Operate band saws, ironworkers, and other fabrication equipment safely and correctly. Deburr, grind, clean, bevel, and prep materials to ensure they are ready for downstream work. Verify that parts and materials are correct before cutting or fabricating to avoid errors and rework. Maintain organized material flow and a clean, controlled work area to support production efficiency. Identify issues early, including bad material, dimensional errors, missing information, or tooling problems, and communicate them promptly. Support fit-up and fabrication readiness for welders, assemblers, and integration teams. Perform basic inspection of completed work to confirm accuracy, completeness, and workmanship. Consistently follow safe work practices and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in shop organization, tooling, and fabrication flow. Learn and operate additional shop equipment and fabrication processes as needed, including potential operation of a knee mill. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical, or industrial shop environment. Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate measuring and marking of materials. Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and basic fabrication equipment safely and effectively. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a hands-on production environment. Ability to follow drawings, cut lists, work instructions, and direction from leads or supervisors. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Reliable attendance and a consistent, dependable work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience cutting and prepping pipe in a fabrication environment. Experience running tubing and installing tubing systems. Experience operating band saws and ironworkers. Experience handling and prepping stainless steel materials. Experience reading fabrication drawings or isometric drawings. Experience with deburring, beveling, and preparing weld-ready material. Interest in learning and operating additional fabrication equipment, including a knee mill. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an active manufacturing shop environment with a strong focus on safety and hands-on work. You will stand and walk for extended periods during your shift and regularly lift, carry, and move pipe, tubing, and other fabrication materials. The work involves bending, kneeling, crouching, and operating fabrication equipment such as band saws, ironworkers, grinders, and related tools while wearing required PPE. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with an alternative flex schedule option of Monday through Thursday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, and opportunities for overtime as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rockledge, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
