Job Description
R & W Distributors, Inc., is a building material supply company. What You'll Do
- Material handle including lifting, pushing, pulling, cutting and shearing rebar and steel products.
- Attend training regarding applicable equipment
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
- Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
- Participates and proactively uphold a safe culture
- Crosstrain on multiple machines
- Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, etc. What You'll Need
- Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
- Able and willing to cross train as required
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
- Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
- Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
- Able to work overtime as business requires
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds or more.
- Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
- Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
- Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required. Working with rebar a plus.
- Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
- Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
- Stand for long periods of time
