Job Description

Welder Job Summary We have an immediate opening for a highly skilled Aluminum Fabricator. In this position, you will work on in-house projects. Your daily responsibilities will include reviewing specifications, laying out metal components, cutting, fabricating, and welding those pieces together to create components required to complete customer projects. We expect our welders to complete each job within specific deadlines.
MIG & TIG
Welder Duties and Responsibilities Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications Utilize industry tools and equipment, including powered saws, portable grinders, hand files, and other types of equipment Use precision measuring tools to fabricate material to customer's specifications Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed in a condition that does not compromise safety Setting up components for welding according to specifications Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Can do takeoffs on jobs Welder Requirements and Qualifications MIG Welder Certification through the American Welding Society a plus Working knowledge of industry tool and equipment Proficient in basic math A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Place each product component in its appropriate spot as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment Mark spots to cut and use tools to manipulate materials by cutting, hammering, bending, or grinding Must be able to use hand torches to heat up materials to make them more flexible for bending or manipulation into the correct specification Review blueprints, drawings and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion. Check measurements and dimensions of each piece that's being worked on with rulers, measuring tapes or squares Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
