Job Description

About the Position We are a growing custom fabrication shop seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys solving fabrication challenges. This is not a repetitive production welding position. We are looking for a skilled craftsman who can independently fabricate, fit, weld, and finish components to a high standard while working closely with a small, dedicated team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional results on every project. Responsibilities MIG weld sheet metal, tubing, and light structural components in a custom job shop environment. Proper setup of the welding machines for the material and type of welding to be preformed. Set up and utilize modular grid fixture tables to ensure precise, repeatable fabrication and assembly. Fit, fabricate, and assemble parts from drawings and specifications. Perform finish work on welded assemblies to achieve clean, professional, near-homogeneous surfaces. Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and superior cosmetic appearance. Collaborate with team members to solve fabrication challenges and improve manufacturing processes. Assist with operation of various fabrication equipment as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Required Skills & Experience 3-5 years of metal fabrication experience. Demonstrable MIG welding experience with sheet metal, tubing, and light structural components. Experience working in a custom fabrication or job shop environment. Ability to understand, set up, and utilize grid fixture tables and fixturing systems. Strong fabrication, fit-up, and assembly skills. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and shop prints. Critical Requirement Candidates must demonstrate the ability to finish welded metal components to a near-homogeneous appearance without visible grind marks, gouges, scalloping, or excessive surface distortion. We are seeking an individual who understands that quality fabrication extends beyond welding and includes producing clean, professional finished products that meet high cosmetic standards. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with laser welding processes. Familiarity with resistance spot welding. Experience operating a variety of fabrication equipment and machinery. Interest in expanding skills and learning new manufacturing technologies. Desired Traits Reliable and self-driven. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality in every task. Continuously looks for ways to improve processes, quality, and efficiency. Enjoys working in a small-shop environment where individual contributions matter. Wants to become a self-sufficient producer capable of utilizing multiple pieces of equipment. Willing to learn new machinery and fabrication methods. Enjoys problem-solving and collaborating with teammates to achieve exceptional results. Requirements Good vision and attention to detail. Reliable transportation. Must reside within approximately 30 minutes of Kennesaw, GA. Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform physical fabrication work throughout the workday.
