Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join our manufacturing and construction teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including structural steel, ductwork, piping, and sheet metal fabrication, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge. The successful applicant will contribute significantly to our commitment to quality craftsmanship and operational excellence. Duties Perform MIG welding on various metal materials such as steel, aluminum, and sheet metal, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute fabrication and assembly tasks. Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal components. Conduct quality inspections utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and weld integrity. Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces prior to welding or assembly. Execute TIG welding or other specified welding techniques as required for specific projects or materials. Operate rigging equipment such as cranes or forklifts for material handling and positioning. Follow ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or structural welds where applicable. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving schematics, mechanical assembly, pipe threading, or ductwork installation. Assist in the setup of welding equipment and calibration of tools like calipers or micrometers for precision work. Support ongoing maintenance of tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance. Experience Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities involving MIG welding processes. Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to metal fabrication. Hands-on knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to structural or pressure vessel welding. Experience working with sheet metal, ductwork, piping systems, or mechanical assemblies is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations. Prior experience operating cranes or forklifts is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret schematics accurately.
