Position Purpose:
Perform all work of a trade or craft nature for which an employee is properly trained, to complete Fabricator assignments in a safe manner. Assist other employees assigned to Fabrication activities. Other skills and duties as required by management. Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience): High school diploma or equivalent. Must be recognized as a journeyman craftsman or trades person or have a minimum of four years of relevant commercial or industrial or combination work and trade school experience. Must have experience in welding, quality assurance and computer skills. Need to have the ability to work in a team environment and have strong written and verbal skills. Must be able to read and understand drawings, layout, prints and weld symbols, have the ability to work with tight tolerances. Ability to calculate measurement tolerances (in decimal and fractions). Ability to perform layout for coping of structural parts, piping and fabricated components. Experience working at a Nuclear or Fabrication Facility where work control and utilization of NQA-1 Quality Standards is preferred. Four years of proven welding experience in
ASME/AWS
Welding Procedures and processes performing
GMAW/SMAW/GTAW/FCAW
welding on different alloys. For years of journeyman level experience in operating shop equipment such as Metal Shears, Press Breaks, Metal Rolls, Drill Presses, Horizontal Band Saws, Pipe Threading Machines, Hydraulic Pipe Bending Machines. Experience with the operation of Overhead Cranes and Hyster's, knowledge of safe Lifting and Rigging Practices. Experience and knowledge in the operation of hand tools such as Grinders, Sanders, Drill Motors, Nibblers, Beveling Machines and Dye Grinders. Experience operating Hand-Held Plasma Cutters and Oxy-Acetylene Torches

Special Requirements/Training:
Must be able to obtain certification in ICP Respirator Program. Ability to acquire and maintain 'L' Security Clearance. Must be capable of lifting 1/3 of personal body weight or 50 lbs., whichever is less. Must be capable of performing physically demanding work including climbing and standing for a prolonged period. vocational or college certification in welding/fabrication. License(s) or Certification(s)
Required:
Must be able to certify to the INL Welding Program. Must have a valid driver's license.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform all work of a trade or craft nature for which an employee is properly trained, to complete Fabricator assignments in a safe manner. Perform other skills and duties as required by management.

  • Attend training such as radiation worker, confined space entry, respirator, HazWoper 24
