ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Review plans and diagrams to ensure accuracy and minimize material waste during cutting processes. Operate metal cutting and welding equipment to fabricate sign parts in line with project specifications. Tack weld aluminum of various thicknesses, ensuring strong and precise welds. Fabricate aluminum retainers and break shape simple parts according to design specifications. Glue angles to substrates to create sturdy and accurate assemblies. Maintain quality control and safety during material handling, cutting, and welding. Sand, grind, polish, and clean materials as needed; bend, shape, and assemble parts using brakes, drills, rivets, screws, or adhesives. Prepare materials for painting and wiring by cleaning, labeling, and ensuring readiness for further processing. Other duties as required.
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Ability to read and interpret plans and diagrams. Basic understanding of metal fabrication techniques preferred Experience with metal cutting and welding equipment preferred Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
SKILLS / ABILITIES
Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity. Maintain regular and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to wear safety glasses and denim pants at all times and often Welding shield, Gloves, Welding jacket, Face shield and hearing protection. May involve some repetitive motions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts. Due to the open environment of the shop, must be able to work in temperature conditions to include heat and cold. May be required to stand for long periods of time. The worker is subject to high levels of noise. Hearing protection is recommended and required for certain job functions.
