Fabricator/Metal Worker 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Company Overview Phoenix Modular Elevator is growing and we need to add a welder to our team. Our Fabrication Team MIG welds structural steel into elevator shafts and makes other steel components that will be used in the elevator assembly. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fabricator/Metal Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling steel components used in modular elevator systems. Your expertise will help ensure precise craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards, contributing directly to the quality and durability of our products. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate metal parts. Use various hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble sheet metal and other materials. Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and welding techniques, ensuring compliance with ASME codes & standards. Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to meet specifications. Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for material handling and assembly tasks on-site or in the manufacturing environment. Cut pipes using threading tools; assemble ductwork, piping systems, or structural components as required. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, machining, rigging, and general fabrication processes. Experience Prior construction site experience or manufacturing background preferred. Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, soldering, and press brake operations. Knowledge of mechanical systems including pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, and assembly techniques. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills for precise measurements. Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely; experience with rigging is a plus. Understanding of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
