Terramac was established to produce the world's leading crawler carriers. Units are sold through a full dealer network which offers customers easy-to-locate parts and service throughout the world. The units can be customized with support equipment to serve many industries such as pipeline, utility, mining, environmental, general construction, and more. To learn more, please visit us at www.terramac.com. Terramac is looking for a Fabricator at our Sugar Grove, IL location. The Fabricator is responsible for Leading the fabrication team in creating various product presentations using drawings, sketches, or verbal descriptions, as well as assisting with solving aesthetic design questions or part assembly functions. This position will work with a wide variety of materials, processes, and coatings.
What You'll Do:
Based on concept ideas: develop, fabricate, and assemble complex jigs, fixture,s and test devices. Perform welding, machining, fabrication, and assembly processes to create, alter, and repair working production and prototype models. When appropriate, coordinate with outside suppliers, engineering, sales, and production to produce required production and prototype models. Identify appropriate methods of fabrication and implement creative solutions. Responsible for testing all prototypes against test plan requirements. Assist in product launches. Documentation of all parts and systems created. Must comply with all customer specifications and requirements, and comply with all company policies and procedures.
What You'll Need:
Will need to take welding aptitude test. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on your own. High school diploma or equivalent. 5-7 years of mechanical, and assembly experience required. 3-5 years of custom fabrication experience preferred. Ability to weld out of position (i.e., Overhead, Vertical, etc.). Ability to climb up/down ladder and get down to floor level repeatedly. Ability to use basic fabrication tools (tape measure, welding helmet, rafter, speed squares). Ability to read tape measure to nearest 1/16". Strong mathematical ability. Ability to convert decimals to fractions. Ability to navigate computer system and understand E-drawings / SolidWorks. A technical school certificate in related field a plus. Quality inspection experience a plus. Ability to Meet or Exceed Structural Welding Code
