You will work in a fast-paced environment, operating machinery, sorting materials, and ensuring that all processes meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Machinery:
Use various types of equipment, such as washers, shears, cranes and forklifts, to process and prepare scrap steel for further processing or shipment.
Material Handling:
Load, unload, and transport scrap steel materials throughout the plant. Ensure proper sorting and classification of materials.
Quality Control:
Inspect scrap steel for quality and contaminants. Remove non-metallic materials and ensure the processed steel meets company standards.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintenance Support:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Report any malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Team Collaboration:
Work effectively with other plant workers and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Skills:
Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and perform manual tasks. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team..
