Job Title:
Construction Technician - Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings Job Description This role supports the construction of pre-engineered metal buildings on commercial projects, assembling steel framing, metal roofing, metal siding, and trim. You will work at heights using scissor lifts and forklift baskets while following all required fall protection practices. This position is ideal for reliable, hard-working individuals who enjoy hands-on construction work and are comfortable working outdoors on a variety of commercial job sites, including some that require travel. Responsibilities Assemble and install components of pre-engineered metal buildings, including steel framing, metal roofing, metal siding, and trim on commercial projects. Connect pieces of structural steel safely and accurately according to project plans and specifications. Perform sheet metal work such as installing gutters, metal roofing panels, and metal siding systems. Operate and work from scissor lifts and forklift baskets while properly tied off and using fall protection equipment at all times. Work safely at heights and follow all site safety rules, procedures, and instructions from site leadership. Use basic construction tools and equipment to measure, cut, fasten, and secure building materials. Collaborate with other crew members to complete daily tasks efficiently and maintain project schedules. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely and properly. Travel to various local and out-of-town job sites as needed to support ongoing construction projects. Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time, working full scheduled shifts, and contributing consistently to team goals. Essential Skills Experience in construction environments, particularly with metal buildings or structural framing. Ability to perform sheet metal work, including gutters, metal roofing, and metal siding installation. Comfort working at heights and willingness to work from scissor lifts and forklift baskets while tied off. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on commercial building sites. Strong work ethic with a reliable and hard-working attitude. Basic proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in construction. Ability to follow safety procedures and use fall protection equipment correctly. Capacity to travel to different job sites, including projects that require overnight or extended travel. Ability to work 45-52 hours per week, including overtime as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in metal buildings, framing, or roofing is highly beneficial. Experience in commercial construction projects is a plus. No formal certifications required for this role. No medical examination required for employment in this position. Willingness to learn new construction techniques and grow within the company. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from supervisors. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based on commercial construction sites, working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. Projects include both local sites and locations that require travel, which may involve extended stays away from home. The environment is hands-on, physically active, and safety-focused, with daily use of standard construction tools and equipment in the assembly of steel framing, metal roofing, metal siding, and related sheet metal components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Park City, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
