In this role, you will fabricate and assemble structural steel components to exact specifications, playing a critical part in delivering high-quality results on time. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, and Sub-Arc (Submerged Arc) welding on carbon steel components Read, interpret, and work from engineering blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols Measure, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel parts and assemblies Set up and operate welding equipment and related tools safely and efficiently Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications Use layout tools (tape measure, squares, levels) to ensure precise fit-up Operate material handling equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and hoists as needed Grind, chip, and clean welds and surfaces to meet finish requirements Requirements Experience & Skills Proven experience with MIG, TIG, and Sub-Arc welding processes on carbon steel Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints and shop drawings Solid understanding of weld symbols, tolerances, and fabrication techniques Experience fitting and assembling structural steel components Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments Knowledge of safe welding practices and shop safety procedures Preferred Qualifications Experience in a structural steel fabrication shop environment Ability to operate overhead crane and/or forklift (certification a plus) Experience with carbon steel plate and beam fabrication Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment (heat, noise, fumes — PPE provided) Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in varied positions for extended periods Compensation & Schedule Full-time position — consistent, stable hours• Overtime available (and often!) for those who want to maximize earnings Competitive hourly wage based on experience and skill level Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Opportunities for career growth and advancement within the company• A team-oriented environment where your skills are valued and recognized Growth Opportunities We promote from within.
