Fabricator Job Description The Fabricator will build and assemble components for custom security solutions used to protect ammunition and explosives for the US military. This role focuses on high-quality fabrication and welding, including MIG, Stick, Flux core, and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, as well as cutting materials using plasma cutters and track torches. Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble components for custom security solutions designed to protect ammunition and explosives. Perform MIG, Stick, Flux core, and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum to produce strong, precise welds. Interpret and work from blueprints, including welding symbols, to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Use plasma cutters and track torches to cut materials to specified dimensions and shapes. Fit, position, and align parts and assemblies prior to welding to meet design and quality requirements. Use hand and power tools to assemble various components into explosion-proof and EMP-proof buildings. Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet production schedules. Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency. Essential Skills Proven MIG welding experience on mild steel and aluminum. Proven TIG welding experience on appropriate materials. Proven Stick welding experience in a fabrication environment. Hands-on fabrication experience, including fitting and assembly of metal components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including welding symbols. Proficiency with Flux core welding processes. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools for metal fabrication and assembly. Experience using plasma cutters and track torches to cut materials. Ability to assemble components for explosion-proof and EMP-proof structures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on customer or specialty fabrication projects. Building secure, structural, or industrial enclosures. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a hands-on fabrication and welding environment focused on building secure structures for demanding applications. The facility operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays, and a weekend shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, with a weekend shift differential. Team members regularly use welding equipment, plasma cutters, track torches, and a variety of hand and power tools. The role requires working in a shop setting where safety procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to fabrication standards are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bardstown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr. medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans with matches, paid time off Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Bardstown,KY.
