Cleanroom Technician Job Description The Cleanroom Technician performs hands-on MIG welding and fabrication work on heavy-gauge steel components used in racking and metal bin systems. This role focuses on producing high-quality welds by hand, interpreting blueprints, and supporting production needs in a large manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding by hand on heavy-gauge steel components to meet production and quality standards. Fabricate metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints and work instructions. Read and interpret blueprints to determine welding requirements, dimensions, and tolerances. Work with mechanical, electrical, and fluid power components as needed to support fabrication and assembly processes. Inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet established specifications and quality requirements. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with team members and production staff to meet daily and weekly production goals. Adapt to changing production needs, including working occasional Saturdays as required by production demands. Essential Skills Proven experience performing MIG welding by hand in a production or fabrication environment. Ability to work with heavy-gauge steel, with prior experience in this area strongly preferred. Strong blueprint reading skills to interpret drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols. Hands-on experience with metal fabrication processes. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fluid power concepts as they relate to fabrication and assembly. Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Capability to work a full-time schedule on first shift, including occasional Saturdays as required by production. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Why Work Here? The facility offers a structured first-shift schedule, opportunities for steady work, and the chance to collaborate with a sizeable team of skilled professionals. You can grow your fabrication and welding capabilities while contributing to a high-volume, large-scale production environment. Work Environment This role is based in a large, approximately 270,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that produces racking and metal bins for major customers. The environment is fairly clean with lots of open space, but it is not climate controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will work on first shift from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with five 10-hour shifts and occasional Saturdays as required by production.
