Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Rebar Worker to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise installation and placement of reinforcing steel (rebar) to support concrete structures across various projects. Your expertise will ensure the structural integrity and safety of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, construction site experience, and a commitment to quality workmanship. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while developing your skills within a dynamic environment. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine rebar placement and specifications. Measure, cut, bend, and assemble rebar using hand tools and power tools according to project requirements. Install rebar reinforcement in concrete forms for foundations, walls, slabs, and other structural elements. Operate heavy equipment such as concrete pumps or cranes when necessary for rebar placement. Ensure all rebar is securely tied and properly supported to meet safety standards and engineering specifications. Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate the installation process efficiently. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of scrap materials appropriately. Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents on-site during heavy lifting or equipment operation. Assist with related tasks such as concrete forming, finishing, or restoration work as needed. Read and understand construction schematics and technical instructions to ensure accuracy in installation. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge related to rebar fabrication, bending, cutting, and installation. Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., pliers, wire cutters) and power tools used in rebar work. Familiarity with construction estimating processes and project planning. Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing techniques, and masonry principles. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely including cranes or concrete pumps. Skilled in using construction site safety practices; certification in OSHA standards is a plus. Experience with metal stud framing, drywall installation, or roofing is advantageous. Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks consistently. Good communication skills for effective teamwork across multiple trades.
