Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Welder specializing in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join our manufacturing and construction teams. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision, adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience on construction sites, proficiency in MIG welding, and a comprehensive understanding of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex projects that demand mechanical knowledge, fabrication expertise, and adherence to industry standards such as ASME codes. The successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and durability of metal structures across diverse environments. Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, pipework, and ductwork, ensuring high-quality welds that meet project specifications. Utilize MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas) and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques as required for different materials and project needs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components. Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate fabrication dimensions. Assist with rigging, assembly, pipe threading, soldering, machining, and mechanical installation tasks on-site. Follow safety protocols related to construction sites, crane operation, forklift handling, and use of personal protective equipment. Maintain detailed records of work performed and inspect welds for quality assurance using appropriate testing methods. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to industry standards such as ASME codes & standards. Support fabrication processes by operating schematics-based machinery like press brakes or plasma cutters for precise cuts and bends. Qualifications Proven experience in TIG welding within construction or manufacturing environments; familiarity with MIG welding is highly desirable. Strong background in construction site work with knowledge of safety procedures related to cranes, rigging, forklifts, and power tools. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and understanding mechanical systems. Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication practices. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, pipe threading or soldering is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing processes including machining or plasma cutting techniques. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment on diverse projects.
