About the Role Join our team as a Marine Steel Fabricator, where you will play a critical role in the construction and assembly of complex marine vessels. You will utilize your expertise in blueprint reading and metal preparation to ensure the structural integrity and precision of our maritime projects. Responsibilities Interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical schematics to guide precise structural assembly. Execute the fitting and alignment of heavy metal components to meet rigorous marine construction standards. Prepare metal surfaces through cutting, grinding, and tack welding to facilitate high-quality final welds. Operate a variety of industrial shipyard equipment, including power tools and cutting torches, to maintain project timelines. Collaborate with welding teams to ensure structural parts are correctly positioned for optimal assembly. Maintain a focus on safety and accuracy to ensure the long-term durability of marine structures. Qualifications Required Skills Proven experience in structural fitting or metal fabrication within a marine or industrial environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings and layout specifications. Skilled in the safe operation of grinders, cutting torches, and various hand and power tools. Strong understanding of metal preparation techniques and tack welding processes. Preferred Skills Prior experience working on barges, ships, or large-scale marine vessels. Advanced knowledge of geometric alignment and structural tolerances. Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality control.
