Job Description
Fabrication Apprentice The Atlantic Heating & AC Fabrication Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Fabricator in all aspects of the operation of the sheet metal fabrication shop. This includes accurate fabrication and preparation of sheet metal ductwork and fittings, as well as keeping the shop clean and safe. In addition, the Fabrication Apprentice will assist with general shop duties in the warehouse at large, including making local deliveries of product.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Fabricator with bending, lining and assembling sheet metal products Maintain a clean and safe work area Assist in maintaining machinery and tools. Ensure timely staging and delivery of materials for installation and service teams. Assist with daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and distributing HVAC equipment and materials. Assist with daily deliveries to crews on local jobsites. Comply with all safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies. Assist with regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies. Hours & Working Conditions Average 40 hours per week (typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays) Overtime/weekend work as required Some lifting and physical exertion required Work with sheet metal and sharp objects Job Requirements Valid driver's license Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s) Ability to follow/perform installation procedures for HVAC/R equipment Ability to lift 100 pounds Neat, clean, professional appearance
