In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, reinforcing, and assembling steel frameworks, bridges, and other large-scale metal structures. Your expertise will help transform blueprints into reality, ensuring safety, precision, and durability on every project. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel components. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
), and plasma cutters to cut, shape, and join metal parts according to specifications. Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging gear, and press brake machines to lift and position heavy steel sections safely and efficiently. Fabricate ductwork and sheet metal components for various structural applications while adhering to ASME codes & standards. Measure materials precisely with calipers and micrometers to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Perform welding tasks using different techniques such as MIG, TIG, Soldering, FCAW, and welding to create strong joints in structural steel. Assemble structural frameworks by bolting or welding components together while maintaining strict safety protocols. Use mechanical knowledge for pipe threading, machining operations, and mechanical assembly tasks on-site or in fabrication shops. Conduct rigging activities for lifting heavy steel sections safely using appropriate schematics and load calculations. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety guidelines at all times. Experience Proven construction site experience working with steel structures or similar heavy industrial projects. Skilled in various welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Soldering, and welding with a strong understanding of welding safety standards. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings essential for precise fabrication and assembly. Hands-on experience operating cranes, forklifts, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other power tools required for heavy-duty construction work. Basic math skills including measurements with calipers and micrometers necessary for accurate fabrication. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to structural steel fabrication and welding practices. Mechanical aptitude with experience in pipe threading, machining processes, ductwork installation, or manufacturing environments preferred.
