Compensation Hourly Rate:

Starting at New Jersey minimum wage (or higher based on experience)

Overtime:

Paid at 1.5× regular rate for hours worked over 40 per week

No additional benefits are provided at this time Position Summary Forza International LLC is seeking a dependable Shop Technician to support operations in a machine shop and light manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include machining, welding, powder coating, electrical work, equipment testing, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility. Key ResponsibilitiesMachining & Fabrication Operate shop equipment including: Lathe Drill press Bridgeport mill Laser cutter Saws and cutting tools Perform drilling, tapping, and general machining Assist in mechanical assembly of equipment Welding & Soldering Perform basic welding (MIG/TIG preferred) Perform soldering and light fabrication work Ensure safe setup and operation of welding equipment Powder Coating Prepare parts (cleaning, degreasing, masking) Apply powder coating and operate curing ovens Inspect finished parts for quality and consistency Maintain powder coating equipment and work area Electrical Work Perform basic wiring and electrical connections under supervision Testing & Quality Assist in testing completed machines and components Report defects or inconsistencies Shop Maintenance & Organization Maintain cleanliness of shop floor and work areas Organize tools, parts, and inventory Assist with inventory tracking and storage General Duties Perform additional related duties as assigned Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods Ability to safely operate machinery and tools Transportation Requirements May be required to use a personal vehicle for local parts pickup Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with applicable law and company policy Qualifications Basic mechanical aptitude required Experience with machining, welding, fabrication, or shop work preferred but not required Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Work Environment & Safety Requirements This position operates in an industrial environment involving machinery, heat processes, and chemical exposure. Chemical Exposure Employees may work with or around chemicals including, but not limited to: Heptane Toluene Isooctane PRF-80 fluids Methanol and ethanol Cleaning agents and solvents Oils and fuels Safety Compliance Employees must follow all applicable safety procedures, labels, and posted instructions Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available and must be consulted as needed All chemicals and equipment must be handled in accordance with established safety practices Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required PPE may include: Safety glasses Gloves Respirators (when applicable) Welding shields Protective clothing Use of PPE is mandatory where required Training & Safety Acknowledgment Employees will receive basic workplace safety orientation as required by applicable law This position does not constitute a formal certification program in machining, welding, electrical work, or chemical handling Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and use sound judgment while performing assigned tasks Employee Responsibility Follow all safety rules, warnings, and procedures Use required PPE at all times Ask questions when unsure and report unsafe conditions Do not perform tasks that are not understood or that pose a safety risk Important Safety Disclaimer Failure to follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, or chemical handling protocols may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination, due to the safety-sensitive nature of this role.
