This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your technical skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure safe, precise, and efficient fabrication and installation of metal structures. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel frameworks Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment ( SMAW FCAW-S), plasma cutters, and press brake machines to cut, shape, and join metal components. Perform welding tasks including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and welding with precision to meet ASME codes & standards. Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging gear, and other mechanical equipment safely to lift and position heavy steel or sheet metal parts. Fabricate structural elements by cutting, bending (using press brakes), drilling, threading pipes, and assembling components according to schematics. Measure materials with calipers and micrometers for accuracy; perform basic math calculations for fabrication specifications. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures in steel erection and fabrication environments. Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques; experience with welding is a plus. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately. Familiarity with rigging practices for lifting heavy steel structures using cranes or forklifts. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to structural steel fabrication and welding. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, soldering, machining processes, ductwork installation, and assembly techniques. Capable of performing basic math calculations necessary for measurements and fabrication specifications. Strong teamwork attitude with excellent communication skills; ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
