Fitter Job Description We are seeking a skilled fitter to join our team and contribute to the assembly of shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and towers. The role involves fitting and assembling metal components using tack welding, clamps, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications. You will ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards while collaborating with welders, machinists, and quality control teams. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols and company procedures are essential. Responsibilities Fit and assemble metal components of shell & tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and towers. Use tack welding, clamps, and measuring tools to ensure accurate assembly. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications. Ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Collaborate with welders, machinists, and quality control teams. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of experience fitting pressure vessels or heat exchangers. Ability to read AutoCAD prints. Extensive knowledge and experience with thermal cutting and welding processes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings. Familiarity with fabrication tools such as grinders, clamps, and measuring devices. Basic welding knowledge Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in industrial fitting or fabrication. Strong attention to detail and quality. Work Environment The role is based in a fabrication shop setting with exposure to heat, noise, and metalworking equipment. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. The job involves standing, bending, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. Work hours include shifts Monday to Thursday from 6 AM to 6 PM with opportunities for overtime, and a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday plus one additional weekday from 6 AM to 6 PM with overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sand Springs, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
