Structural Steel Installer & Framer

FABCO is a full‑service steel fabricator, looking for a skilled Structural Steel Installer & Framer to join our fast‑growing team in Woodburn, Oregon. Our state‑of‑the‑art facility, combined with our highly trained field crews and advanced technological capabilities, allows us to execute a wide range of projects from small installations to complex structural builds. Job Overview The Structural Steel Installer performs hands‑on field installation of structural steel systems that form the load‑bearing framework of buildings and structures. Work includes setting steel members, installing connections, assisting with rigging, and ensuring all components are installed according to project documents and safety standards. Role And Responsibilities Structural Steel Installation & Erection Install and erect structural steel components including columns, beams, joists, and bracing systems. Layout, Fit‑Up & Field Coordination Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and construction plans. Perform layout, measuring, and alignment using tapes, levels, lasers, and hand tools. Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, or minor field modifications as required for proper fit and installation. Coordinate installation activities with crew members and other trades to support proper sequencing. Quality, Safety & Jobsite Standards Ensure installed work meets company quality standards and project requirements. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including fall protection and rigging safety. Inspect completed work for alignment, secure connections, and workmanship. Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsite conditions. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in structural steel installation, erection, or miscellaneous metals work (1-3+ years preferred). Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and shop drawings. Working knowledge of steel connections, anchoring systems, and erection methods. Familiarity with rigging, hoisting, and material handling procedures. Forklift and aerial lift experience or certification preferred (or ability to obtain). Welding is not a primary requirement ; limited field modifications may be performed if qualified. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50-100 pounds. Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding jobsite environments. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
