$25.75/hr - $30.00/hr Job Summary We are looking to hire a hard-working and skilled Fitter to join a leading local manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fitting, joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials. You will work under the direction of the Production Supervisor to lay out and assemble subunits for large, specialized projects—including transmission power poles, substation A-Frames, and various tubular structures—that are subsequently welded by the welding team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, focused, and possesses the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to interpret complex blueprints to ensure all products meet quality specifications. Key Responsibilities
    Fabrication & Fitting:
    Perform fitting, joining, and fabrication of metal and weldable materials according to job specifications.
      Layout & Setup:
      Set up work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts to fabricate parts and rework finished products.
        Equipment Operation:
        Safely operate hoists, overhead/jib cranes, slings, grinders, cutting torches, and various hand/power tools.
          Quality Control:
          Ensure products are fitted precisely to blueprints and requirements, consistently meeting standards for high-quality, UT-passable welds.
            Maintenance & Safety:
            Maintain equipment functionality, notify management of repair needs, and adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
              Team Collaboration:
              Cross-train and perform other assigned job tasks, support housekeeping efforts, and participate in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Qualifications & Requirements
                Education:
                High School Diploma or GED.
                  Experience:
                  1-2 years of experience in a Fitter role required. Experience with pole work is preferred.
                    Technical Skills:
                    • Proficiency in reading blueprints, welding symbols, and diagrams. ○ Thorough knowledge of welding equipment (torches, tips, etc.). ○ Experience operating Overhead and Jib Cranes.
                    Soft Skills:
                    Strong problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and a positive, willingness-to-learn attitude.
                      Physical Requirements:
                      ○ Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly. ○ Ability to climb stairs and ladders. ○ Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 40 lbs. ○ Must have good vision, hearing, smell, and balance. ○ Ability to work in a shop environment with extreme temperatures.
                        Additional Requirements:
                        ○ Must pass a Fitter test, background check (including criminal history), drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test. ○ Must wear OSHA-required PPE (including welding hood, if welding). Schedule & Availability
                          Shifts:
                          Multiple shifts available.
                            Availability:
                            Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift as needed, including weekends (Saturdays, as needed) and overtime.
                              Hours:
                              40 - 55 hours per week.

                                • Active participation in mandatory continuing education and training programs.
                                Pay:
                                $25.75 - $30.00 per hour
