Job Description

A leading design and fabrication company is seeking a Structural Fitter to assemble, align, and fit metal components according to blueprints and project specifications. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented fabrication professional with strong blueprint-reading skills and experience preparing structural components for final welding. Working under minimal supervision, this role plays a critical part in ensuring structural accuracy, quality, and production efficiency.

Evening 2:00pm-10:30pm Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, layout reference points, and fabrication drawings. Assemble and fit plates and structural sections to form platforms, skids, pipe systems, handrails, and other structural components. Measure, align, and position components to ensure proper fit-up prior to welding. Layout, mark, and verify reference points for fabrication Use cutting torches, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools. Ensure all parts are labeled with part number, heat number, and job number prior to inspection. Inspect own work for accuracy and adherence to specifications. Maintain proper housekeeping and keep work area clean and organized. Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and job information. Follow all safety and quality procedures at all times. Requirements Experience fitting structural steel components (platforms, skids, pipe, angle handrail, etc.) Strong blueprint-reading and layout skills Familiarity with cutting torches, grinders, and drills Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and dusty environments Knowledge of structural fabrication processes Testing will be required Due to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we regret that we are not able to personally respond to all applications.
