Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Fitter for a day shift position in a fabrication shop environment. This role focuses on fitting and assembling carbon steel skid units, structural steel assemblies, I-beams, and related components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate can read blueprints, accurately lay out materials, and fit structural components for final welding. Candidates with welding experience are highly preferred. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols Fit and assemble carbon steel skid units, structural steel, platforms, and heavy assemblies Lay out, measure, mark, and position materials for fabrication Verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet specifications Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely Work closely with welders and fabrication personnel to complete projects on schedule Maintain a clean and safe work environment Qualifications Previous experience as a Structural Fitter, Fitter/Fabricator, or similar role Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings Experience fitting structural steel, skid units, platforms, and heavy assemblies Strong measuring, layout, and fabrication skills Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and other fabrication tools Experience with MIG, Flux Core, TIG, and Stick welding is highly preferred Ability to tack components together and assist with fabrication when needed Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment
