Full Job Description Advance Shipfitters Compensation:
$45.00 Plus $120.00 PD Experience Four or more years of commercial or naval experience as a first-class Shipfitter.
Required Skills Multi-Pass Tack Welding:
Utilization of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Process. Application of
MIL-10718-M
(A-5A) Filler Metal of
MIL-E-22200/1.
Execution in both the Vertical Up (3F) and Overhead (4F) positions.
Burning:
Proficiency with Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch.
Heating:
Proficiency with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
Comprehension:
Ability to understand complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
Measurement:
Ability to comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler.
Layout:
Ability to layout piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
Assembly:
Ability to assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner.
Physical Environment:
Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipbuilding, steel fabrication, etc.).
OSHA Regulations:
Familiarity with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
Vibratory Tools:
Proficiency in the use of vibratory tools (grinders and needle guns).
Air Carbon Arc Gouging:
Proficiency in Air Carbon Arc Gouging techniques.
Work Packages:
Ability to utilize Work Packages and Drawings to plan and execute work.
Molded Lines:
Ability to use Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute required work.
Complex-shaped Shell Plates:
Ability to Erect, Set, and Makeup Complex-shaped Shell Plates.
Decks and Bulkheads:
Ability to Erect, Set, and Makeup Decks, Bulkheads, Longitudinals, trunks, etc.
Hull Inserts:
Ability to Install and Replace Hull Inserts and Penetrations.
Foundations:
