Position:
Shop Ironworker (Full-Time) We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Ironworkers with strong fabrication and welding skills. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced fabrication shop where quality workmanship, productivity, and attention to detail are highly valued. Primary Responsibilities Fabricate, fit, and assemble structural steel and miscellaneous metal components Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication details Perform layout, fitting, tacking, and assembly of steel components Operate fabrication equipment including welders, grinders, saws, punches, drills, and other shop machinery Perform welding using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (Hard Wire/MIG), and FCAW (Flux-Core) processes Verify completed work meets project specifications and quality standards Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures Qualifications Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or fabrication shop environment Ability to pass a Hard Wire (MIG) and/or Flux-Core (FCAW) welding certification test Strong blueprint reading and layout skills Proven welding and fabrication experience Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable work ethic and commitment to workplace safety What Sets Us Apart Iron Workers Local 28 is committed to connecting skilled craftsmen with quality union employment opportunities that provide fair wages, excellent benefits, retirement security, and professional representation.
