Well Testing and Flowback Field Technician Job Description The Well Testing and Flowback Field Technician rigs up, operates, and rigs down well testing equipment in the field while closely monitoring production data and ensuring safe, efficient operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with accurate data recording, troubleshooting, and collaboration with a small, tight-knit crew in a field-based oilfield environment. Responsibilities Rig up, operate, monitor, and rig down well testing and flowback equipment, including separators, tanks, piping, and valves. Monitor and record oil, gas, and water flow rates, pressure, temperature, and fluid levels throughout live well operations. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues that arise during well testing and flowback activities. Manage and coordinate the storage, hauling, and disposal or recycling of produced fluids in compliance with operational standards. Maintain accurate daily reports, production data logs, and other required documentation to ensure data integrity and traceability. Follow all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures while working around pressurized systems and heavy equipment. Perform basic maintenance on oilfield tools and equipment and assist with repairs and overhaul as needed. Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during rig up, rig down, maintenance, and repair tasks. Participate in Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) and other equipment safety procedures to ensure safe operations. Communicate clearly with crew members and management regarding job status, equipment performance, and any operational concerns. Support multiple service lines as needed, contributing to cross-functional field operations rather than working in a siloed role. Valid driver's license. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
