Freelance Landscape Designer (Drafting / Site Measurement)

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Freelance Landscape Designer with strong drafting and measurement skills. In this role, you will create precise digital drawings and measurements that bring outdoor projects to life. Your expertise will help streamline project workflows, ensure accuracy in site layouts, and facilitate seamless communication between design teams and construction crews. Responsibilities Assist in capturing accurate site measurements through on-site assessments and detailed data collection Convert field measurements into precise CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software. Vectorworks preferred. Develop detailed schematics and layouts for landscape architecture, site planning, and construction projects Utilize SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, and ArchiCAD to create 3D models that visualize project concepts effectively Collaborate with design teams to review drawings, ensure adherence to project specifications, and incorporate feedback Prepare detailed documentation including construction drawings, system designs, and graphic representations for client presentations Support the integration of CAD files with other design tools such as MicroStation or SolidWorks for comprehensive project development Requirements Proven experience with CAD drafting software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or SolidWorks. Vectorworks preferred Familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino 3D (3ds ), Grasshopper 3D, and Revit for 3D modeling and system design Strong understanding of landscape architecture principles and site measurement techniques Ability to interpret architectural schematics, construction documents, and technical drawings accurately Knowledge of graphic design fundamentals and 2D animation is a plus for creating engaging visual presentations Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Prior experience in interior or mechanical design is advantageous but not mandatory Join us as a Freelance Landscape Designer and CAD Drafting Assistant and play a vital role in shaping inspiring outdoor environments!
