Mid-Level Landscape Architect Hilton Head Island, South Carolina Wood+Partners, Inc. Wood+Partners (WP) is seeking a design-oriented and technically proficient Mid-Level Landscape Architect to join our collaborative studio on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Southeast, including: Resort and hospitality developments Mixed-use and commercial environments Residential and community planning projects Parks and civic spaces WP's mission is to Create Great Places. At WP, team members work closely with firm leadership and play an active role in shaping projects from concept design through construction administration. We are a boutique practice that values thoughtful design, technical excellence, and professional growth. Located on Hilton Head Island, this role combines meaningful project experience with a coastal lifestyle known for outdoor recreation, natural beauty, and a strong design-focused development market. Position Overview The Mid-Level Landscape Architect will support project teams through all phases of design and documentation while collaborating closely with consultants, clients, and internal staff. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and meticulous, with strong technical production skills and a passion for creating high-quality outdoor environments. Responsibilities Prepare landscape architectural construction documents and detailing Assist with site planning, grading coordination, and planting design Develop presentation graphics, renderings, and client materials Coordinate with engineers, architects, and consultants Participate in design development and internal project reviews Support project management tasks including schedules and QA/QC reviews Assist during bidding and construction administration phases Participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program 3-7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture Strong proficiency in: AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Understanding of construction documentation and detailing Strong graphic communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative fast paced environment Preferred Licensure or active pursuit of landscape architecture licensure Experience with: SketchUp Lumion or other rendering software GIS platforms Knowledge of Southeast planting palettes and site development processes Professional Development WP is committed to supporting long-term professional growth through: Mentorship from experienced design professionals Exposure to all phases of project development Opportunities for increased project responsibility Support for licensure and professional advancement Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health insurance Paid time off and holidays 4 ½ Days work week 401K Program with company match Continuing education and professional development support What Success Looks Like in This Role Within the first 6-12 months, the successful candidate will: Contribute to active construction document packages Participate in project presentations, consultant coordination, and permitting processes Support design development across multiple project types Become an integral member of the WP project team structure How to Apply Please submit the following materials: Resume Cover letter Portfolio/work samples (PDF preferred, max 10MB) Work samples should include both conceptual and built work and clearly identify your role on each project.
