SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Landscape Designer encompasses someone who enjoys and understands the merging of art and science into a display of beauty that melds the buildings and technology with nature. The Designer creates and plan the landscapes, design and manage open spaces including both natural and built environments. The Designer provides proposals for improving our client's properties both in form and function for projects generating above 50,000 revenue. This may include computer generated renderings

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and design massive, long term projects with the help of crew from the beginning to the end Prepare design, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates as well as provide unique, high quality designs that meet or exceed client's needs Perform site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, lighting, the view, and architecture of the landscaping Communicate the design and installation processes to clients and other parties to help ensure realistic expectations, help them make better decisions and to recognize the importance of the design expertise Inspect projects as they progress to determine regulation and specification compliance, and make recommendations to existing specifications and plans Meet with Dept. Manager, Account Manager(s) and/or clients to provide designs and proposals upon request Reviewing plans, proposed changes, and any other necessary documents Oversees progression of the project to ensure that it is going as planned Update personal and dept sales pipeline Enforce company policy and departmental procedures to subordinates Assist in operations as needed to provide job specific instructions and detail Perform Quality Control - on materials and installation for projects as necessary Other duties as assigned

IX EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE A
bachelor's or master's degree in landscape design or landscape architecture is preferred Strong background in horticulture Working knowledge of CAD preferred, photoshop and sketch up
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Knowledge of how ecological conditions that can affect a proposed design Inspection knowledge and experience An understanding of the laws and codes you will have to abide by in specific areas Coachable, hardworking, organized team player Enhancement Landscape Designer Maintenance Division
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
(all required to be done for up to 10 hours or more a day): Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; may be required to operate assigned vehicle; may be required to push, pull, bend, lift light to moderate objects (40 lbs.), carry, reach, and stoop; finger dexterity is essential. Maintain mental capacity that permits making sound judgments regarding work and have regular attendance.
