Job Description

Job Overview The Lead Estimator is responsible for identifying, bidding, and winning profitable landscape construction projects. You will serve as the bridge between the client's vision and our field operations, ensuring every project is bid with precision to maintain TruCo's standards and profitability.
Duties Project Take-offs:
Perform detailed on-site measurements and digital take-offs from architectural plans for commercial and high-end residential projects.
Bid Management:
Source material pricing, negotiate with vendors, and estimate labor hours for hardscape, softscape, irrigation, and drainage.
Proposal Development:
Create professional, line-itemed proposals that clearly outline scope, exclusions, and payment terms.
Client Relations:
Act as the primary point of contact during the bidding phase; attend pre-bid meetings and perform "walk-throughs" with GCs or homeowners.
Project Handoff:
Once a job is won, lead a "kick-off" meeting with the Production Manager and Crew Leaders to ensure the budget and vision are understood.
Back-Costing:
Review completed projects to compare "Actual vs. Estimated" hours and costs to refine future bidding formulas. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in landscape construction estimating. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., LMN, Stack, or On-Center) and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of local plant material, drainage systems, and hardscape construction (ICPI/NCMA standards preferred).
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
