Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer JSzabo Collaborative Landscapes Woodinville, WA Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $95,000 a year 10 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Driver's License Full Job Description Who We Are At J Szabo Collaborative Landscapes, we craft outdoor spaces that feel like home—thoughtfully designed landscapes that weave together beauty, function, and care. Our passion is bringing homeowners' dreams to life with a deep respect for the site and the people we serve. We're a tight-knit team that listens first, works together, and builds with pride, believing that great landscapes create richer lives. What You'll Do We are seeking a Landscape Architect / Designer with a strong design sensibility to create inspired residential landscapes. In this role, you will lead the design process from initial client consultation through detailed design and estimating support, while working closely with our experienced construction team to bring projects to life. You will work on a variety of custom residential projects which holistically incorporate many disciplines: patios, decks, outdoor kitchens, planting installations, native meadows, water features, custom furnishings, drainage, sustainable practices, etc. Key Responsibilities Create fresh, personalized landscape designs that interpret and elevate client ideas into beautiful, functional, and buildable outdoor spaces. Conduct site visits, take accurate measurements, and develop scaled designs, planting plans, material lists, and compelling presentations using our branded design process. Support thoughtful estimates through material specifications and proposals that balance client vision with budget and site realities. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure designs are executed with high fidelity and care. Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear communication and outstanding service throughout the design phase. Produce professional design packages, construction documents, and project records efficiently and accurately. Collaborate closely with the broader team to maintain high standards of craft, quality, and continuous improvement. Participate in mentorship, knowledge sharing, and elevating our design excellence. What You Bring We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about landscape design and appreciates a high level of craft in the world around them — whether it's in architecture, gardens, furniture, art, or everyday details. You appreciate quality and bring that same level of care and attention to your own work. 5+ years of professional experience in landscape design and estimating, preferably in a design-build environment. Strong working knowledge of landscape design principles, construction techniques (patios, decks, irrigation, hardscapes, etc.), and Pacific Northwest plant materials. Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust and translate client dreams into reality. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail. Coursework, certificate, or degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or Horticulture preferred. Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, or similar preferred. Experience with sustainable landscape practices preferred Valid Washington State driver's license and clean driving record. Why Work With Us? We're more than a landscaping company—we're a team dedicated to creating spaces that inspire and uplift. You'll enjoy competitive pay and solid benefits, generous paid time off for a balanced life, the tools and resources to do your best work, and a supportive, collaborative culture where your contributions truly matter.
