Job Description

This is a skilled position in the handling storage and transportation and use of explosives and surface mining industry the employee in this classification is responsible for the safe and efficient storage transportation loading detonating and clearing of blast areas the job also includes exact record keeping of transfer and use of explosives including blasting logs inventory logs seismograph reports and other records required to be maintained as well as the operation of boom operated bulk and supply trucks mechanical loading equipment small track operated dozer loader and operation of instruments to measure circuits and blasting systems performed in accordance with instructions given by a supervisor and the employee is expected to carry out the assignments free of direct supervision except for more complicated jobs the work requires good judgment and experience the employee is responsible for constant monitoring of blasting materials and equipment as well as dangerous weather conditions and equipment as well as clearing of blast holes and other conditions which could affect safety and for reporting and defects or hazards in a timely manner to his supervisor Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
