• Full-time Chapingo Tree Care Specialist, based in Frederick, MD, is a leading tree service company in the DMV area.

We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Crane Operator to join our tree service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating cranes to support tree removal, trimming, and maintenance activities. This role requires close collaboration with arborists, ground crews, and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient tree operations in a variety of environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate cranes to lift, move, and position trees, limbs, and related materials during tree removal and maintenance projects Work closely with tree climbers, riggers, and ground crews to coordinate lifts and ensure safety at all times Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance on cranes Set up cranes safely, ensuring proper ground support, outriggers, and rigging Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as company policies Assist with job site preparation and clean-up as needed Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate safe and effective operations

Qualifications:

Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent) required Proven experience operating cranes, preferably in tree service or similar industries Knowledge of safe rigging practices and tree work procedures Ability to read and interpret lift plans and load charts Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety and attention to detail Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy objects as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with specialized tree removal equipment CDL Class B or Class A (Commercial Driver's License) Primarily works outdoors . Requires exposure to adverse weather conditions, noise, vibration, dust and hazardous materials while working at considerable heights. Hazardous conditions exist due to exposure to power tools, power lines, wild animals, stinging insects, poison ivy, oak or sumac, and dead and dangerous trees and limbs.
