Key Responsibilities Operate a motor grader (Cat 672 or similar) for fine grading, road construction, and subgrade preparation Utilize GPS/grade control systems to maintain accurate elevation and alignment Read and interpret digital plans and site models Perform daily equipment inspections (pre- and post-shift) Coordinate with surveyors and crew to ensure grade accuracy Maintain proper blade control for smooth, uniform surfaces Follow all safety procedures and jobsite protocols Report equipment issues promptly Maintain production efficiency while minimizing rework Qualifications 3+ years experience operating a motor grader Experience with GPS systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica, etc.) Ability to read grade stakes and plans Understanding of grading principles Strong safety knowledge and awareness Ames Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
