Operations Superintendent Position Summary As a Drilling/Logging Supervisor/RSO, this position will ensure all Drilling activities and logging, radiation and safety-related activities comply with company, state and federal regulations and procedures. Conducting tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of monitoring uranium in water and soil by performing the following duties. Key Responsibilities Maintain daily drilling activities assuring all drilling activities are done in safe productive way. Maintains compliance with Radioactive Materials License. Supervise daily logging activities for drill core and/or cuttings Prepares records data, prepares summaries and charts for review, and develops a report detailing activities performed and results received. Assists with the installation of complex equipment and instrumentation including calibration and troubleshooting as needed. Operates Logging and PFN tools. Audits identify physical sources used for logging. Supervises a team of employees and Contractors. Effectively communicate with drillers, drilling foreman, geologist, and Logging Supervisor to ensure efficient operations occur. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain standardized logging procedures across all drilling programs Ensure timely and efficient logging to support drilling schedules Implement and enforce logging standards, protocols, and nomenclature Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements High school diploma required. Associate's degree in radiation safety, health physics, or related field or two (2) or more years of study in the physical sciences, engineering or a health-related field preferred. Four (4) weeks of generalized training (up to two (2) weeks on the job training) in radiation health protection applicable to uranium recovery facilities Three (3) months of specialized training (one (1) month may be on the job training) in radiation health protection relevant to uranium recovery facilities Four (4) years of relevant work experience in applied radiation protection Completed Well Logging Supervisor Training for Sealed and Neutron Sources. Knowledge of drilling operations. Ability to work independently and to supervise a team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office knowledge. Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving history. Work Environment and Physical Demands Work requires travel to sites. Ability to work evenings and weekend work. Ability to work with minimal or no supervision. Ability to climb stairs and ladders as the job requires. Ability to bend and kneel to access work areas as required. Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs. Ability to work in all weather conditions including outdoors.
