Job Description
SUMMARY Employees in Mine Support perform a variety of duties to support general mining and production activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Build RoadsCut down road to hard bottom.
Spread road rock across road surface.
Apply dust suppressant.
Repair RoadsGrade roads to smooth them, pulling material in from the sides.
Apply dust suppressant.
Dust suppression of roads as needed.
Follow established schedule to build and maintain roads.
Muck sump.
Tram sump muck.
Maintain and repair sprinkler systems.
Operate heavy equipment, including road grader.
Deliver supplies to underground mine crews, including loading and unloading of supplies.
Operate service equipment, loaders, fork lifts, and haul trucks underground.
Housekeeping:
including tasks such as shoveling, picking up trash or debris, etc. to ensure a safe work area.
Operate hand and/or power tools to make minor repairs or for maintenance activities.
Perform equipment/facility inspection and minor maintenance.
Communicate using the squawker, station bells, work bells, pager phone, and leaky feeder radio.
Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.
Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent.
Basic computer skills preferred. Proven safe work record required. Excellent attendance history required. Willingness to work in team-based environment required.
