On-site SUMMARY:

The Underground Labor Support role is an entry-level position responsible for performing a variety of general labor duties in the underground mine. This includes assisting miners, maintaining clean and safe work environments, handling materials and supplies, and supporting crews in daily operations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and physically capable of performing demanding tasks in an underground setting. This role offers a foundation for growth into other underground mining positions.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

Supports underground operations by: Transporting tools, supplies, and materials to work headings Assisting with ventilation, barricading, and utility installations Shoveling, hosing, scaling, and cleaning to maintain orderly work areas Ensures safe work conditions by: Performing workplace inspections and hazard removal Assisting with cleanup after blasting or equipment movement Maintaining water control systems, ditches, and sumps Assists production and development crews by: Providing backup labor for mucking, bolting, and material handling Helping set up and break down drill sites or support installations Following instructions from miners, supervisors, and support personnel Handles equipment and supplies by: Operating small equipment or hand tools as directed Loading and unloading materials on service runs or at storage locations Conducting basic maintenance or reporting equipment issues Participates in safety and training programs by: Attending safety meetings and job briefings daily Complying with all MSHA regulations and company procedures Learning safe work practices and building knowledge of underground systems

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

High school diploma or GED required No previous underground experience required; mining experience preferred MSHA Underground Miner Training certification required (or ability to obtain) Valid U.S. driver's license preferred

Strong work ethic and reliability Willingness to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks Ability to work in team settings and follow directions Desire to learn and advance within underground mining operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Walk, climb, crawl, bend, and lift in confined underground spaces Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Work in wet, humid, dark, and sometimes loud environments Wear required PPE including hard hats, boots, gloves, and hearing protection

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job is performed in an underground mine environment.
