Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Waste Oil Heater Service Technician to join our team and drive excellence in maintaining and repairing waste oil heating systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on specialized equipment, ensuring efficient operation and safety across various industrial and commercial settings. As a key player in our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining waste oil heaters, contributing to environmentally responsible energy solutions. Your expertise will help clients optimize their heating systems while adhering to safety standards and technical specifications. This is a seasonal position, September through February. Pre-season training to begin mid-August required. Must pass drug screening for employment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair waste oil heaters, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance. Install new waste oil heating equipment according to schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and troubleshooting of mechanical components, burners, pumps, and controls. Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to accurately diagnose issues. Perform field service tasks related to waste oil systems. Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and combustion analyzing equipment to repair or replace faulty parts. Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for client documentation and compliance purposes. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge in waste oil-fired equipment, pressure washer service and maintenance, or HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), plumbing, and boiler systems. Proven service technician experience with a focus on equipment repair in industrial or commercial environments. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans accurately. Field service experience working with similar mechanical equipment is highly desirable. Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record. Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters are advantageous for repairs. Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
