Job Description
As a Lead Service Technician for Kit Carson Propane, you will be responsible for providing expert-level installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of residential and commercial propane systems, ensuring safety compliance and leading a team of service technicians to deliver exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do:
Install, repair, service, and maintain all residential, commercial, and agricultural propane systems and appliances. Conduct pre-installation site surveys and determine optimal placement for tanks and piping. Perform system conversions and upgrades as necessary. Perform scheduled maintenance checks and safety inspections. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to propane systems, appliances, and gas flow. Repair or replace defective equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, and gauges. Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, federal, state and local regulations. Complete all required documentation, including work orders, service tickets, and inspection reports accurately and timely. Ensure all installations and repairs meet required inspection standards. Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to service technicians. All other duties as needed.What you bring:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Propane Service Technician. Demonstrated proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial propane systems and appliances. Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues independently. Strong understanding of NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code) and NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on-call, weekends, and flexible hours as required for emergency service. Certifications and Licenses Valid New Mexico Propane Gas License required. LP-3S Retail Sale of LP Gas LP-5 Installation, Service and Repair Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required. High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50-75 lbs.). Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
