Generator Service Technician (Residential/Commercial)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment repair, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality service delivery. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on various types of generators, including diesel engines and generators. (air-cooled & liquid-cooled up to ~1MW) Perform startups, load banks, warranty work, and preventative maintenance agreements Complete digital service tickets with photos; communicate clearly with customers Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for repairs. Engage with customers to provide updates on service status and address any inquiries or concerns. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used. Collaborate with team members to improve service processes and customer satisfaction. Assist in heavy lifting as required during equipment repairs or installations. Qualifications 2+ years generator or engine/electrical service experience (Generac/Kohler/Cummins a plus) Strong troubleshooting skills, clean workmanship, valid driver's license, customer-friendly demeanor Comfort with HouseCall Pro (or similar) and basic tablet workflows Familiarity with diesel engine repair is highly desirable. Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs or maintenance tasks. Sales experience is beneficial for upselling services or products to customers.
